The reason to Blog!

This is the first of many posts in this blog. I'm not overly concerned with grammar or anything like that. While I know I'm going to be a teacher, I'm much more serious about teaching then the "correctness" of this here bloggy. This post will show more of a guide about me and the future posts. Also what this is all about. " the reason to blog!"

I'm a semi-normal person who is interested in a very wide range of things. I have my quirks like all, but the thing that sets me aside "the reason to blog" is that I'm moving to japan to teach English to the Japanese people.
I'm 22, 5'3, Dark haired, Dark eyed, American with alot of interesting things to learn from. I have a much different take on education then most, and a most different view on life and relations with people. I'm a lover of REAL Heavy Metal, Food, Travel, Sports, Extreme Sports, Reading, Talking to and meeting people, Computers, Other peoples Blogs, Anything i deem as funny, Guitar "I have been playing for about 11 years now." and alot of other things you will find out by reading my blog!

While most Gaijin are normal people with either a Japanese fetish "Japan-o-phile" - Thanks Sheri for the term"
or a Otaku obsession. I'm neither. While i love my share of Japanese "stuff" i have interests that are far more reaching. Actually. now that i think about it. most people who go to japan to teach are kinda nerdy. but I'm not talking about all of you. this is simply what i see. I want to break the norm of boring teaching and show the people something new, entertaining, fun, but most importantly... Educational.

Every time i blog it will talk about current events in my life "personal + Professional", things in my teaching and musical careers and sometimes random funny or interesting topics! i will include a "song of the day" perhaps a brief explanation of it and how it pertains to a situation or how i feel. and also some information about my musical exploits. In Japan I'm going to play music with people. as most true musicians do. This blog will also talk about my adventures as a lead guitar player as well as a Teacher, Gaijin and Husband.... In a world i read about and have seen in pictures, but have never experienced or have been totally immersed in.... Japan...

Song of the day.

Evergrey - A Touch of Blessing. From the album: The Inner Circle.

A Touch of Blessing is a journey for the mind. This song makes me think and in a way I'm reborn after every listen to it. This song hauntingly fills my mind from time to time and i can not ignore the genius behind Tom Englund's words. The beginning of the song is only a simple riff and his wise sad words...

INTRO - "Climbing walls of an endless circle. Walking paths you never heard of. Struggling in an endless battle. Searching for a higher purpose. Drowning in betrayals river. The freezing cold will make you shiver. Join the world of greater learning. Crown me king and be my servants."

This always makes me think....

CHORUS - All the dreams I had. All my failure wishes. Put aside for a greater journey. All the things I planned. Left my friends so coldly. Put aside for a higher purpose."

This song reminds of me what I'm doing to my friends and family. I'm going to be missed in the US. I have a whole life here I'm going to be giving up for my journey. for my higher purpose. I'm leaving the loving arms of familiarity and I'm embracing the cold unfamiliar arms of a country and a race of people i really have no idea what to expect from. What will become of me? What is in store for me on my higher purpose?

If you have any qestions for me, dont be afraid to ask.

thank you for reading.

I really love where you talk about the trouble of choosing for personal progress versus leaving your close ones behind. Keep on blogging / Jake
